Foot hygiene, care and advice



In part 1 we listed what we need to know when choosing "the most comfortable shoe" - we are now going into look into some further advice into keeping our feet healthWash your feet in warm water. It helps to decrease any swelling and relaxes the muscles.

  • Be sure to dry your feet well, especially between the fingers. Your feet should be kept as dry as possible.
  • Remove all dry skin using pumice stone (natural volcanic stone) only, avoiding any other sharp objects.
  • You can further hydrate your feet using moisturising cream that will prevent against dry damaged skin.
  • A well balanced diet plays a part in having healthy feet.  Dehydration and lack of Vitamin A are the usual causes of flaky damaged skin on your feet. Vegetables, spinach carrots are rich in Vitamin A. Seven or eight glasses of water per day are also recommended for proper body hydration.
  • When cutting your toe nails take care not to cut the nail too deep. A very short toe nail, in combination with tight shoes can create problems for your toes.
  •  Ladies should allow for periods when their nails remain free from varnish or colours.anatomic shoes 

    Concluding, we should look after our feet now, so that serious problems are avoided in the future.




    And of course we should never forget choosing the right shoes. Remember what is "the most comfortable shoe"?
